Whether she is writing arrangements for winds, string quartet, or a solo keyboard, Marianne Osiel brings fresh color to her work. Her experiences as a multi-instrumentalist — she plays seven instruments ranging from oboe to slide guitar — informs and enhances her own arrangements.

In addition to orchestrations for her own pieces, she has done arrangements for a variety of artists including David Olney (Rounder Records), Susan Piper (Sliced Bread Records), and Ashley Cleveland (RCA). Another arrangement appeared on Tanya Savory’s “Town To Town” (“Time Was”, featuring the oboe). “Christmas On the Border” (Regency Entertainment) features Marianne on slide guitar on “The Virgin Mary Had a Baby Boy”. She most recently arranged strings for Bob Hillman on his album, “Welcome To My Century” (Brave New Records).

Sample cuts of Marianne’s arrangements include “1917”, a string quartet arrangement on a David Olney song recorded in 1998 for “Through A Glass Darkly”, and a string quartet, “All The Joy” for Susan Piper’s CD recording, “The Truth Comes Out.” The 3rd selection is a woodwind arrangement (oboes, flutes) on “Green Light” from the CD “Strange Girl” (Maitri Music).
